Current Ministries

Christian Schools

Mission Possible owns and operates 7 schools in Haiti and the Dominican Republic which allow approximately 2,600 pre-school through high school students to receive a Christian education and a nutritious school lunch. Our schools provide an excellent learning environment, high academic standards, and Biblical instruction. Through “Possibility Kids”, our student sponsorship program, children are offered a life-changing opportunity to discover their God-given possibilities.

Vocational School

With up to 80% unemployment, Haiti is a difficult place to earn a living. Fortunately, the area we minister in has some jobs available for people with the right skills. To meet this need, we have opened a vocational school. In this colorfully painted building, courses in Accounting and Computers started in February 2009; Electricity and Masonry Construction will start soon. A two year nursing program is projected to start in 2010. So far, 134 adult students have enrolled in the vocational school programs.

One of our new, vocational school students is a young man who explained he was happy to have the opportunity for a vocational education. His prior plan was to become a KIDNAPPER. Thanks to God, that is one young man we can steer into a positive career and the ability to provide for his family.

Leadership Development

Student Leadership Development: 12 young men and women leaders from each school have been identified and are provided godly mentors to develop the unique abilities and gifts God has placed in them. Through Leadership Development, we are literally training a future generation of pastors, evangelists, teachers, and doctors.

Discipleship and Leadership Training Center: We opened the Ecoli Biblique Internationale (EBI) Bible School in January 2007. It did not take long for the people in the Haitian communities to understand the importance of EBI. Currently over 140 community pastors, teachers, and lay leaders receive deeper spiritual training at EBI.

Teacher Seminars: In Haiti, many teachers and pastors lack a high-school or college education. Our Teacher Seminars provide practical training for Haitian and Dominican teachers. Teacher Seminars are held during the Summer break and have had in excess of 120 teachers in attendance. Teachers come from the Mission Possible schools as well as other private and public schools.

Pastor Seminars: Our Pastor Seminars give well-grounded training for both pastors and lay leaders alike. Led by mature Dominican, Haitian, and U.S. pastors and seminary instructors, the Pastor Seminars are well-attended (162 at a recent seminar). Pastor Seminars are typically held on a quarterly basis, depending on the Haitian security situation.

Community Development

Mission Possible invests in poor areas by providing community wells and cisterns, disaster and humanitarian relief, heath education, and community centers.

Hand-up

Mission Possible is a hand-up, not a hand-out ministry. Those that benefit from our programs are expected to invest in their own future. For example, the families of students provide the school uniform and books and also contribute a small monetary amount towards their education. We know that a hand-out creates dependency relationships and an unhealthy self-image, whereas someone who contributes to their own success will value what they have earned.

Short-term Mission Teams

We can provide your Mission Team with a rewarding overseas ministry experience in construction, medical ministry, or evangelism.
