• How much does sponsorship cost?
    • Student sponsorship costs $35/month/child. Sponsor now
  • Can I choose which student I want to sponsor?
    • Sponsors may request a specific gender and/or age. Otherwise, any available student will be assigned to the new sponsor.
  • Will I be the only person sponsoring the student?
    • Money from your sponsorship isn’t sent directly to one student but is pooled into a fund that is used to pay for school expenses (meals, teachers’ salaries, school supplies, etc.) So, sponsorship really is a team effort with each sponsor’s donations benefit all of MP’s students. However, specifically on the DR side of the island, a sponsorship’s true cost is $70 a month but we know it isn’t feasible for all of our DR sponsors to fully support a student’s education at that cost. In order to overcome this deficit, some of our DR students have two sponsors- each one covering half the cost of a sponsorship. This just means that two sponsors are able to correspond/get updates from one student.
  • How does sponsorship benefit the student?
    • First, the relationship that you create with your sponsored student will benefit both of you through encouraging communication and prayer. Secondly, the money you pay for sponsorship goes towards providing daily meals, education, medical care and discipleship to all of the students in the Mission Possible program.
  • How long does a sponsorship last?
    • As long as the student in our school, you can be their sponsor. Upon graduation, you will be given the opportunity to begin sponsoring a new student.
  • How do I cancel a sponsorship?
  • How can I communicate with my sponsored student?
    • For safety reasons, sponsors and students may only communicate through letters. Email, social media messaging or other forms of electronic communication will not be permitted. Letters can be mailed to our US office or emailed to Sponsorship@OurMissionIsPossible.org.
  • When will my sponsored student receive my letter?
    • One the letter is processed in our office, it will be scanned and emailed down to our sponsorship department in Haiti or the DR. They will then get the letter to the student as soon as possible. The process is the same with letters coming back to the US office. Students only receive letters during the school year. Letters during the summer/break will be saved and delivered once school starts again.
  • Will my student be able to write to me?
    • Yes, your student will have opportunities throughout the school year to write to you.
  • Can I send any type of gift to my sponsored student?
    • Pictures are permitted, as they can be scanned and sent with the letters. Your sponsored student wants to see what you look like, too! Please be mindful of our guidelines regarding pictures that you received in your sponsorship welcome packet.
  • Can I sponsor a staff member or a Community Health Agent?
    • To discuss the sponsorship of a Community Agent, please call Belinda 419-422-3364.
