Encouragement comes from just the right place at just the right time. The last couple of weeks have been a blur for me. A vision trip to Haiti and the DR, a week of family vacation in southern Ohio and then a “short” drive across the country to visit our oldest son in Colorado. To cap it all off my wife, Tracy, was co-leading a mission team down in Haiti and the DR, so I was left to take care of the house and kids. I was feeling tired and drained and just in need of a nap or some time off when I received two phone calls.
The first was from one of our longtime supporter.
As I talked to her, I asked how long she had been sponsoring a child. She told me, “sometime in the fall of 1979”. Mission Possible started in 1979! She continued to share how when she first heard about the kids and looked at the pictures, she had to respond. She has faithfully given since 1979. How amazing is that? My encouragement tank was half full. The second phone call was a Monday morning blessing. As I answered the phone, my heart was encouraged by the words this man was speaking. After the 20 minutes we were on the phone, my encouragement tank was full.
In those times that you need it the most, God knows and sends you the encouragement you need. Whether it’s a simple phone call, or a note on the bottom of a receipt, or the chance to meet someone who has sponsored for 38 years, God’s time is perfect and He always delivers. Thank you for your faithfulness to the ministry of Mission Possible. Matthew 19:26 “But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are Possible.” Our Mission Is Possible!
